Globally, at least four billion people do not have access to water that is safe to drink, or The available quality of drinking water is very much diluted from many of anthropogenic actions. In the entire South Asian region of over 1.7 billion people, one will be hard-pressed to find even one city, town or village where the majority of the people think the tap water is safe to drink, without any health concerns. That’s something which needs to be ponder upon holistically through analyzing different chain of human activities

IGMPI (Institute of good manufacturing practices of India) is running a certificate course in water quality and management for the benefit of experienced professionals and newcomers to the industrial sector. This certificate course trains individuals to assume and lead managerial positions in the impact sector – particularly global climate change issues, scientific communication and project management. Water quality encompass a broad range of opportunities, including those with a focus on natural/physical sciences as well as social sciences and humanities. Given the high impetus of government on river rejuvenation and conservation projects like Namami Gange, it’s certain that expertise in the water quality management will provide an edge to those who are well versed with the contemporary water related aspects

Eligibility

Any graduation/B.Tech/B.Sc in Environmental science/Geography/Life Sciences/Botany/Zoology/Food Science/ Food Technology/ BE/ B. Pharma/MBBS/BDS/BHMS/BUMS/BAMS and Post Graduation/M.Sc in Environmental sciences or related fields or any other discipline. Diploma holders are eligible for our Executive Diploma, Industry Certificate and Certificate Programmes.

Programme Duration

The candidate is expected to complete the programme in a minimum of 3 and maximum of 6 months.

Registration

The registration dates for this programme run by the Institute are updated timely on the webpage. Effective Online learning tools incorporated into the design of the webpage make the programme lectures, online live classes, and study material easily accessible. This gives a huge window of self-paced and self-regulated performance to the participants.

Programme Deliverables

A comprehensive study material for all the modules in hard copies ensuring the needs of the audience. The accompanying training material is appropriately aligned with the current Industry’s expectations.

  • – Interactive or online live sessions on all key areas of the programme giving all flexibility to the participants.
  • – Online classes for all the modules will be conducted on the weekends. Moreover, a doubt clearing session will also be scheduled before the examination.
  • – All the efforts are made by IGMPI faculty members to make the entire programme modules easily understandable.
  • – Assessment and evaluation for all the programme modules in order to enhance the levels of competencies and skills of the participants leading towards the objective of application in the job.
  • – At the end of each programme modules, the trainers shall obtain feedback from the participants using specially designed questionnaires.
  • – All learning and training delivery initiatives shall be conducted in English.

Examination & Certification

IGMPI follows a credit system based on all learning activities involved in studying the certificate programs. Each of your module is equal to 4 credits. To successfully complete the programme, you will have to earn all the credits assigned to the program.

All the participants are obliged to timely submit completed assessment assignments (during the programme, usually after every module) and appear for an online proctored exam at the end of the programme. After successful completion, the participants will be awarded Certificate in Water quality and management by IGMPI. For all the above mentioned modules elaborate programme material, self-assessment assignments and project work details would be provided by the Institute from time to time. Placement Assistance & Corporate Relations

The Institute has partnered with many organizations for providing with placement assistance to the participants of Post Graduate Diploma Programmes. Besides, it has a robust placement cell comprised of senior level Human Resources professionals and Talent Acquisition experts which maintains close links with business and industry. This cell is continuously engaged in promoting the employability of our participants and encouraging the concerned Human Resource department and Hiring Managers to recruit/hire our participants for their vacant positions. The efforts of our placement cell also include helping with professional resume writing and interview skills.

Future career prospects

In this course, participants will be able to learn and understand and evaluate critical issues in domain of water and hydrosphere that are driving changes in effective global governance. They will also be able to assess the implications for businesses and major public and private entities, and make key decisions for conservation and preservation of local ecosystems. Water quality management courses offer a plethora of opportunities. In India, around 20 % of employees work in the environment sector, which is expected to double by 2030. According to the reports, 24 million green jobs will be available around the world by 2030. After pursuing Water quality and management courses, the candidate can work in various fields like the climate monitoring think tank task forces, pollution control board, environmental consultancy firms and public health sector.
